Shakespeare Contest 2019
On this last 13 of March, 2019, at Centro Educativo Jean Piaget, the Shakespeare Contest was held among our high school students. The participants had been arduously working on their dramatic and English skills for the past few months, an effort that culminated in this contest.
Eight students interpreted a monologue from one of Shakespeare’s plays, embodying a character of their choosing. After their monologue, each student brought to life one of the Bard’s sonnets. Through this activity, both our actors and our audience had the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and complexity of Shakespearean language. We would like to congratulate our two joint winners: Fernanda Quezada, from 10th grade, and Santiago López López, from 12th grade. Fernanda, who played Queen Margaret from Henry VI, Part 3, and Santiago, who interpreted Titus from Titus Andronicus, earned the right to represent our school at the Teatro Helénico.
